Vice Media

In 2015, PPI delivered audiovisual systems for Vice Media’s new Brooklyn headquarters. PPI worked closely with Vice to design systems for conference rooms, executive offices, and office-wide video-over-IP distribution. All ten conference rooms are outfitted for presentations, audio conferencing, and video conferencing. The largest of these rooms, the Bear Room, delivers with an 85” 4K display, an audiophile surround sound system, an auto-tracking videoconferencing camera, and flexible input/output options for integration during production events.

A number of design principles were deployed throughout the project. PPI & Vice designed all conference spaces to support 4K resolution to prepare for future content. This means not only 4K displays in every conference room, but end-to-end 4K video infrastructure in each room as well. All AV systems are remotely manageable, so that VICE’s IT staff can maximizes up-time and minimize technician visits. Simplicity was a key concept: in every conference room, users can present and make audio and video calls from a single point of control. Lastly, the systems were designed to make an impression. Rooms can support critical client pitches, major presentations on large format displays, video conference sessions with production-level features, and high-end surround sound.
