Fab.com
In the summer of 2012, the rapidly-expanding Fab.com moved its corporate headquarters to the West Village in NYC. PPI was brought in to both design and install an audiovisual system in the new office’s Board Room meant to inspire both in-room and remote collaboration. Though only a one-room project, the goals were lofty and the time was limited. Completed in the fall, the room features a 2×2, 110” video wall with four ultra-slim bezel LED displays. The array is powered by an RGB Spectrum video wall processor, which allows images from a variety of sources to be displayed at any size and any location across the wall. A Lifesize video conferencing codec along with a high definition pan tilt zoom camera was installed for video conferencing capabilities, and table-mounted microphones and ceiling-mounted speakers for audio conferencing. Acoustical paneling was put in as well to augment the acoustics of the former warehouse. Lastly, an iPad with a custom designed graphical user interface was programmed to control the whole system.
