Stevens Institute Of Technology Podcasting Room
The Podcasting Room at Stevens Institute of Technology was built as an all-in-one lecture capture resource for students and instructors of the WebCampus. Stevens Institute opened up its WebCampus in 2000 with the goal of creating new opportunities for students not only in areas that the college traditionally serves, but for others around the country and around the world as well. The Podcasting Room is a dedicated studio where instructors can go to pre-record course lectures, conduct interviews, film and upload office hour sessions, prepare welcome messages for new classes and experiment with different distance education techniques. Within the studio, end users have access to wireless microphones for recording audio, fixed and movable cameras for capturing lectures, a 70” interactive display with laptop connectivity for presentations and a second “confidence monitor” for the presenter’s convenience. Sessions recorded in the Podcasting Room can be downloaded by students through Stevens Institute’s WebCampus Portal.
